Subject: The temptations of Costco
Keurigs are great, aren't they?...I just wish I didn't have to refill the water all the time

...then again, I do drink a lot of coffee and tea
Martha...no, not that Martha

the kitchen gods will not smite you if you don't do it ATK/CI/CC's way

I dream a dream of home...Where there’s coffee on the table...And kindness in your hand

Our Costco doesn't sell the baby mozzarella cheese balls plain. They come already seasoned.

Wish they would carry them here on LI.

Anyone else get a phone call from Costco today?

I got one because there is a recall on one of the items that I purchased there.

It was for this product:

Also recalled through Costco is "Morton's of Omaha Steakhouse Classic and/or Rosemary, Garlic & Chardonnay Tri Tip Beef Bottom Sirloin" sold between May 4 and June 26, 2009.

The recall applies to those two flavors with use/freeze by dates of June 17, June 18, June 19 and June 26, 2009.

The affected products have been removed fr om Costco shelves and are past the last use/freeze by date of June 26. Customers with questions can call the Morton's of Omaha recall hotline at 888-952-9105.

Mine has a sell by date of July 3. Mine has been in the freezer since I purchased it.

I was shocked when the phone rang and I picked up the phone to hear this message.

We were gong to have this one night earlier in the week but opted for something else.

I plan on calling the company in the morning to make sure that my package of meat is safe to consume.

Denise

Another good find at CC:

Daves Gourmet Red Heirloom Tomato Pasta Sauce, 2 jars for $6.99

It has a really fresh and sort of citrisy taste. Not overly herbal. I used half a jar tonight with pasta, and the rest is going into a vegetarian minestrone - it will add a nice flavor to the rest of that soup.

i have switched to bjs and left costco, just go for the pizza and ice cream at the snack place. One problem with costco their prices were going right through the roof but meat seams to have dropped last time i was there. Not so many $40+ packs more like $30 and under even under $20. We have done better at bjs with things outside like car insurance and home also some other things costco really doesn't do to well on. matter of fact when ever we tired their partners prices were crazy and didn't save anything.

I belong to both BJ's and Costco. I find BJ's often has sizes more convenient for small families (retirees, couples without children, singles) Sometimes the package sizes at Costco are way too large for me.

However, Costco prices tend to be lower, so if I can use or freeze the larger quantity, I get it at Costco,

BJ's has the best bread!!!! The Ecce Panis Semolina bread is TO DIE FOR! I quit baking bread after we discovered this.

Costco had whole beef tenderloins for $7.49 per pound last week.

i buy my frozen veggies at bjs, much better than costco. What i like about bjs they are name brand while costco sticks to mostly Kirkland stuff. I can leave Bjs under $100 while never at costco but they do have better sea food. BJs also have shallots all year round while costco only holidays starting around thanksgiving. Bjs bakery stinks, they seam to leave flavor out of everything they bake. I also like Bjs eggs more than Costco, they taste better and when package says x-large eggs you get x-large eggs and not broken. Bjs takes manufactures coupons but not sure if costco does, never tried there. Always buy the wings when leaving bjs at their food court but found they don't sell them in the deli anymore because they removed all the fryers form their stores, guess someone got burned or insurance got to high.

Get thee to Costco! The holiday rack of pork is in!

I accidentally bought one of these last year and threw it in the freezer, thinking it was lamb (reading > me). I defrosted it and cooked it according to the package instructions (sear and then bake) and it was PHENOMENAL. Until I learned that it's only available for the holidays!
