Subject: "Ideal No Calorie Sweetener"
Has anyone tried this? (it's made with Xylitol):

Xylitol does taste very much like sugar. You've probably already encountered it in sugar-free gum. It is a sugar alchohol and, while it's better than other sugar alchohols in this respect, it does give some people gas. You might want to try it sparingly at first.

Yes, I do know that about Xylitol. Thanks. "Ideal" is a blend of "Xylitol, dextrose, maltodextrin and a very small amount of sucralose for added sweetness." Am particularly interested to see how this sweetener does in baking.

I have always used equal when i want to sweeten my tea because i really like it sweet. As far as baking goes you should stick regular sugar.Like my doctors have said you can eat anything you want as long asit is in moderation.

I picked up a box because I also noticed it was made here in Indiana, actually less than 30 minutes away.

I tried it in coffee and was not impressed. It takes an equal amount as you would use of sugar, takes awhile to dissolve and had a "slippery" mouth feel. I didn't try it in baking, so if you do, let us know what you think.

Thanks for your review, Kurt. I was worried about the texture. I will definitely let you know if I try it in baking.
