Making breakfast for a crowd is no easy task. You’re cracking eggs. You’re flipping pancakes. Maybe there’s kids running around. Mouths need to be fed!

Oh, and don’t forget the toast. Toast is essential.

The problem is that most toasters only toast 2-4 pieces at a time. That’s at least 3 trips back and forth from toaster to plate.

Nobody’s got time for that.

Fortunately, we’ve got a kitchen hack that takes all the pain out of making toast for a crowd. In just four easy steps, here’s how to do it.

How to Toast 12 Pieces of Bread at Once

1. Place an oven rack in the middle position and a second rack in the lower-middle position.

2. Place a baking sheet on the lower rack.

3. Heat the oven to 450 degrees, then arrange bread slices between every other bar of the upper rack, resting on the baking sheet.

4. Toast the bread until the top sides are lightly browned, about 6 minutes. Using tongs, flip the slices and continue toasting the second side, about 6 minutes longer. Serve.
