The best molasses spice cookies combine a homespun crinkled appearance with a chewy texture and a deep, gently spiced molasses flavor. According to Amanda from A Cookie Named Desire, our Molasses Spice Cookies are perfect for dunking.

The secret to our perfect cookies is a modest amount of dark brown sugar, which boosted the sweetness and added strong caramel notes. To complement the assertive sweeteners, we used a powerful yet balanced team of spices (including cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice, and black pepper) providing warmth and just enough bite.

“I’ve always loved molasses cookies, but never had my own go-to recipe," Amanda wrote. "I am proud to say that I finally have a go-to recipe that I will use forever, and yes, they come out perfectly every single time.”
