Cooking at Home with Bridget and Julia is a winning recipe collection from America’s Test Kitchen hosts Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison. This title is the perfect book for test kitchen fans and for anyone who appreciates great recipes. Meet their families, read about their paths to the test kitchen, and see what they make when there isn’t an army of prep cooks and dishwashers at the ready.

Apple galette is the perfect dessert to serve at the holidays. Our galette recipe has the buttery flakiness of a croissant, with the strength to support a generous layer of apples. It's such a pleasing dish that it made the cut to be included in our television show hosts' newest collection of recipes, Cooking at Home with Bridget and Julia.

“I love this simple and pretty apple galette recipe from the "Casual Entertaining" chapter [of Cooking at Home with Bridget and Julia],” writes Hannah of The Cookery Wife blog. “The food processor does all the work for you and after chilling in the fridge, it rolls out beautifully.”

Thank you, ladies for putting out a cookbook that is both delicious and practical.

Aside from using the food processor, we use a blend of all-purpose and instant flours for the dough, producing a crust that is tender, not tough.

And our new cookbook is packed with similar, crowd-pleasing recipes. With chapters on weekend breakfasts, home-style dinners, casual entertaining, and holiday celebrations, Cooking at Home with Bridget and Julia is a testament to the power of great recipes and outstanding food—and how it can be a touchstone for families, build traditions, and make celebrations and gatherings more fun.

“I like easy and practical and uncomplicated. So as I skimmed my newest cookbook from America's Test Kitchen I was. . . pleasantly surprised!” exclaimed Hannah. “Every recipe looked straightforward and simple and amazingly delicious. I love recipes that utilize ingredients that everyday cooks already have in the pantry.”

After preparing the galette, Hannah has a final note for her readers: “So if there's one cookbook you buy this year, may I recommend this one?! Cooking at Home with Bridget & Julia. Thank you, ladies for putting out a cookbook that is both delicious and practical.”
