Test your cast-iron skillet’s seasoning by frying an egg in it. If the skillet is well seasoned, the egg won’t stick.
When you need a strong, even sear, preheat your cast-iron pan in the even heat of the oven instead of on the stovetop.
You can wash a cast-iron pan with a few drops of dish soap. Just make sure to rinse the pan and wipe it dry afterwards.
