Cook’s Illustrated’s Most Popular Recipes of 2023

When we say popular, we mean it. Tens of thousands of you flocked to each of these 10 recipes over the course of the year.

Published Dec. 21, 2023.

Our archive includes thousands upon thousands of recipes. But this year, these are the ten that drew the most views of any others on our site. Perhaps fittingly, they run the gamut from mains to desserts.

Topping the list with nearly 53,000 views is associate editor Erica Turners Pasta alla Zozzona—a remarkable testament to its popularity, given that the recipe debuted on the site less than a year ago. “The best pasta sauce I have EVER made”; “WOW!”; “Sweet mother of comfort food!” are just some of the raves this creamy, porky dish has garnered in the recipe comments.

Other recipes are long-time favorites of our subscribers, including Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies and deputy food editor Andrea Geary's Olive Oil Cake (and brand new to the site this month but quickly climbing the ranks is her chocolate version of this dessert).

See what other recipes rounded out our top 10 of 2023, including Sasha Marx's Cheesier Nacho Cheese Sauce, Andrew Janjigian's Murgh Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken), and senior editor Steve Dunn's Bangers with Onion Gravy.
