How to Cut Ingredients on the Bias

Cutting long, slim vegetables diagonally adds visual interest to many dishes.

Here's how to produce a consistent bias cut.

1. Trim

Line up 3 or 4 pieces and trim ends.

2. Angle

Use edge of knife to nudge pieces into angle at which you'll cut.

3. Cut

Cut pieces into desired length, following angle established in previous step.
