Slow-Cooker Chicken Pot Pie with Pie Crust Topping
Why This Recipe Works
For our best slow-cooker chicken pot pie recipe, we made a complex gravy with aromatics and white wine, thickened with tapioca, on top of the stove and then transferred it to the slow cooker along with the chicken. Once it was cooked, we removed the chicken from the bones, returned it to the gravy, and transferred the filling to a baking dish. A store-bought pie crust was a simple way to finish off our slow-cooker chicken pot pie recipe.
