See why.Stone-Ground Oats
We tested one brand of stone-ground oats. Could they please our tasters' palates?
What You Need To Know
Also called Scottish or “porridge” oats, this style features coarsely stone ground oats. However the brand we tested, which had stone-ground oats the size of couscous pieces, did not fare as well with tasters, some of whom found its “Cream of Wheat-like” texture “weird” and unappealing.
Everything We Tested
Recommended with reservations
Tasters found stone-ground oatmeal "unusual" with "very small oats," "like couscous." Some enjoyed its "nutty flavor," describing it as "almost roasted," and "Cream of Wheat-like." Despite some fans of its "buttery flavor and fabulous texture," several found its texture unappealing, "weird," and "bad."
